John Blackerby's Confederate Grey !

This thread is about Joh Blackerby's Confederate grey dress hat.
This is a 2500X felt in a very confederate grey ( I hope I am not color blind) We did switch colors at the last minute on this hat due to a new understanding.

While John likes a substantial hat he also wanted something a bit ligher in color and weight than his medium weight black hat.

We choose the quite medium confederate grey in the 2500X quality and also in a 100 Gram Body. It is quite thin but not a complete summer weight. It is the ultra dense ultra premium felt that some men prefer to get used to.

This is a pure dress hat with 0 stiffner in it and is difficult to work but the rewards of setting felt with out stiffner speak for themselves.

This hat is the next in queue after Dr. Kussins hat finishes and the body is dry. We probably got it blocked a day late and if so then Dr. K will finish out tomorrow evening most likely and this body will not be dry till day after tomorrow. If so we will work on Jon's Black Olive for a bit and then take over this hat and finish the Black Olive next.

Now lets see If I have this one correct in that it gets black commanding crown ribbon conserative bow work and thing black bound edge.

Want to do it up proud and perfect for brother John and this will take some time in the pounce and then quite a bit of articulating to make sure all is just so.

If you want to discuss this hat then this thread is just for that.
